The Space
3357 Kingston Rd, Scarborough
Half Note is a 2,900 square foot open-concept event and studio space on Kingston Road in Scarborough. It is one large room rather than a series of small ones, which is the whole point — the floor gets laid out around your event instead of the other way around.
The room reads industrial: black walls and ceilings, exposed ductwork, polished concrete, warm pendant bulbs overhead. That makes it an easy backdrop to shoot against, and an easy one to dress up. The same floor that holds a blacked-out video set on Tuesday holds a hundred-guest reception on Saturday.
Two garage doors open directly onto the space. They make load-in straightforward for crews and equipment, and left open they bring in natural light and change the character of the room entirely. Alongside the event floor there is a presentation bar, a presentation kitchen, a separate prep kitchen, and two multi-gender bathrooms.
